I received a custom order from a great gal whom I met through Posh Mama. She had requested a custom fused glass piece for her husband in the Navy for Father's Day of an F-18 Super Hornet Jet. The jet is from VFA-154 also known as the "Black Knights." She sent me some pictures of the jet and wrote "I like to think ahead for thoughtful gifts. I hate getting him something from Best Buy, it's so impersonal. Last year my husband was on deployment so I had to think ahead too. It could take up to a month for him to get mail on the ship! I'm really excited about this project."
At first, I was a bit hesitant because I had never created any type of aircraft before. But, I'm glad I bit the bullet and went ahead with the project. She did not request it to have too much detail, but wanted the black and red stripes on the tail, the red, white and blue star on the front/side of the jet and the word "Navy" on it. Here's the picture I worked with and the final product (you can click on the pictures to get a closer look):
